Metal braces use brackets, wires, and rubber bands to correct the position of your teeth, and they remain the most powerful and versatile method of orthodontic correction. Braces are appropriate for all patients, even those with the most serious bite, jaw, and teeth alignment issues. Contact Dr. Naik for an appointment to discuss your orthodontic options, and see if braces are a good choice for your orthodontic needs.
We also offer tooth-colored braces, which use tooth-colored, ceramic brackets to provide you with more cosmetically-appealing orthodontic treatment.
Modern ceramic braces will offer similar results to traditional braces, but they can require some extra care as ceramic brackets are not as durable as metal brackets. They can also have a higher upfront cost, so they may not be suitable for all patients.
Your braces will blend in with your teeth, so you can smile, laugh, and eat with more confidence. If you are interested in a discreet, effective orthodontic option, ceramic braces may work for you. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Naik today to find out!
Rather than brackets and wires, Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners to shift your teeth gradually. These look similar to a nightguard or a retainer. You’ll swap through multiple sets of aligners throughout your treatment, and each set will move your teeth into a healthier position.
Compared to braces, Invisalign can be a faster treatment with proper usage. It’s also a more comfortable and convenient option. There are no metal components to irritate your mouth, and your aligners can be removed to eat, drink, and brush and floss. They're also nearly invisible when worn, so it’s a much more subtle treatment.
As long as you have minor-to-moderate teeth alignment and bite issues, you are likely a good candidate for Invisalign. However, serious orthodontic problems may disqualify you from Invisalign treatment, and braces may be a preferable alternative.
The only way to know which orthodontic treatment is right for you is to schedule an orthodontic consultation with Dr. Naik. Give us a call at (469) 444-8464 and get started right away.
If you qualify for both treatments, Invisalign will offer identical results, and it will usually have a faster treatment time. It’s also more comfortable and convenient.
However, metal braces may be a better option if you have more severe orthodontic issues, as they are more flexible and powerful compared to Invisalign. Find out which option may work for you with an appointment at River Walk Dental.
Dr. Naik monitors children's bites at every preventive visit. If your child needs interceptive care with appliances or two-phase orthodontic treatment, Dr. Naik may start discussing orthodontic treatment options at as early as 6-7 years old. Some functional and bite issues should be dealt with early on. If there are issues that do not require immediate intervention, Dr. Naik will continue to monitor your child's bite until they have all their permanent teeth (usually around 12-13 years old), and make the appropriate recommendation when necessary. If you are worried about anything, please ask! Dr. Naik loves answering questions!
